oDesk Identity Verification

27 Feb

Once you have signed up for a contractor account on oDesk and reached 100% of profile completeness, the next best thing to do is to undergo the oDesk identity verification. It is a secure and easy way for contractors to confirm their identities online.

This process can improve your marketability and can stand out to clients as a serious contractor. It is really important especially to those who are new to oDesk. Doing so will increase your job application quota and will receive added benefits and services including faster resolution of payment issues and disputes.

how to Verify identity (odesk)

Getting verified is easy! You just have to upload two important documents and provide the required information. You need  a government-issued ID such as passport, driver’s license, postal ID, SSS, and the like. Next is utility bill under your name or bank statement. This one should not be older than 6 months, so check the statement date before submitting.

While being oDesk verified is encouraged, it’s completely optional. But for me, it is very important to save you from being suspected by oDesk for identity fraud.

I really don’t care to know all these infos, until I read this post. I got valid gov’t. ideas, but regarding the billing, should I need to have bank account statement Sha?

I really don’t have both. I have bank account when I was single and it’s closed already..hehehe our electric bill is under my mom’s name and we neither have telephone bill. I guess it’s about time for me to reopen a bank account for this purpose. ;-)
